I am just up- and I am puking
I am around and I am in a frown
My belly doesn’t show –is it alarming?
My back is in pain as if in strain
My legs are in cramps cant walk up the ramp
My hands and feet are swollen
Oh- The salt in my food is stolen
My heart is in a burn
It isn’t really fun
Some people go through pregnancy with ease and comfort, glowing, while others go through it with effort and tolerance. There is a wide range of discomforts that could accompany pregnancy during various stages.
Digestive Woes:
1. Nausea and Vomiting
This occurs during the first three months. Don’t worry it won’t last long.
Follow these Golden Rules:
Eat a biscuit or toast or dry bread half an hour before getting out of bed.
Eat 5 small meals at short interval(instead of three large ones)
Avoid greasy /spicy foods
Drink liquids between meals instead of with meals
Take medication prescribed by your doctor.
2. Heartburn
A strong burning pain may be felt in the centre of the chest close to the heart.
The circulating hormones relax the lower end of the food –pipe allowing the acid from the stomach to pass into the esophagus .Eat smaller meals more frequently but have a full meal before retiring to bed. Drink milk to neutralize the acid in the stomach. Avoid spicy food. Eat slowly and chew your food well. Try changing your sleeping position, elevating the head should help.
3. Constipation
Constipation is fairly common in pregnancy. Drinking plenty of water, avoiding fatty foods and eating a high fiber diet, including foods such as whole grain cereals,breads,raw fruits and vegetables will usually help. Exercise, even a brisk walk and relaxation helps . Exercise It is better to avoid laxatives. Iron tablets can also cause constipation. Consult your doctor for the change in your brand.
4. Piles
Small swelling in the rectal area may feel sore and bleed during passing motion. This is further aggravated by constipation. Avoid constipation and straining or sitting for a long time on the toilet.
